Blogger blows

I got married and changed my name. Not a crime. But then I had to change my e-mail address.

Google won't let you do that. So I created an entirely new address. Then I had to forward all my old e-mail to my new address. And share my old calendar with my new calendar. Don't get me started on Reader. I had been accumulating tags for years on Reader. I had to share all of those tags as an RSS feed, then subscribe to the feed with my new Reader account.

Where Google really takes the cake is with Blogger, though. It's not bad enough that I have to be completely signed out of my work e-mail (which goes through Google Apps) in order to log in to blogger. No, the big problem is trying to post.

Following the helpful instructions of Blogger, I shared my blog with myself. I sent my new e-mail address an invitation to post on my blog. But I can't log in with that address. When I do, I get prompted to create a new blog. (Thus, this blog now exists.) My dashboard does NOT show the old blog that I have shared with myself.

If I log in with my old address, I see that my new address is the admin on the blog and is the only authorized poster. But it gets better! If I click on my name (located right next to my shiny new e-mail address), it takes me to the profile for my (wait for it) OLD e-mail.

In short: There is no way to share a blog with yourself.
In even shorter: Fuck you, Blogger.
